Dear Sports Physiotherapist,
We are very proud to announce our 1st National Congress on Sports Physiotherapy. The VUB and ULB will be our hosts in 2020 and hope to welcome you on Saturday 21 November in Brussels.
Over the last years several regional sports physiotherapy congresses have been organized successfully. Since 2019 the Belgian Federation of Sports Physiotherapy (BFSP) has been officially recognized by the International Federation of Sports Physiotherapy (IFSPT), which is a subgroup of the World Confederation of Physiotherapy. It is within this perspective that we are happy to invite you to our 1st National Congress on Sports Physiotherapy on Saturday 21 November in Brussels. We look forward to a fantastic Congress in the Olympic year 2020.
The program of this congress offers the sports physiotherapist the opportunity to update their sports physiotherapy competences and this in the area of prevention, rehabilitation and the very controversial area of return to sports. We offer a unique blend of keynote lectures, coupled to interactive sessions and clinical workshops. Latest research will be presented by national and international expert clinicians and researchers during theoretical sessions and practical workshops.
We are delighted to invite Dr. Phil Glasgow, author of multiple benchmark scientific papers for sports physiotherapists on rehabilitation and return to play. He will share his clinical expertise as chief physiotherapy officer at the last Olympics in Rio 2016. During the face to face encounters learning possibilities are guaranteed as experts will answer your personal questions and share their expertise by means of useful tips and tricks. In addition to sports physiotherapy experts, some of our National Olympic doctors will present and give us an insight in the medical decision-making and treatment protocols of elite athletes. Besides the theoretical sessions and clinical workshops we have programmed a panel discussion with famous trainers and well-known elite athletes to present their experience with sports physiotherapists. Knowing their (un?)successful cooperation with sports physiotherapists will increase your future teamwork.
We are convinced that this program is of the highest level and will offer every participant a great opportunity to increase their sports physiotherapy knowledge, clinical reasoning and practical skills.
We hope to welcome you in great numbers and offer you an interesting congress.
