We are delighted to announce the 4th SSBe Interdisciplinary Spine Symposium, which will take place at the Palais des Congrès de Mons on Saturday, 17 January 2026.

This 4th edition brings together renowned national and international experts to share their insights and latest advances in the field of spinal trauma care.

The registration includes:

  • Participation in all scientific sessions

Cancellation Policy

Participants cancelling their registration before 15 December 2025 receive a full refund, less 50% administration costs. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after this date.
Cancellations must be confirmed in writing to the Secretariat.

Accreditation

Accreditation applications will be submitted to RIZIV/INAMI.

Accreditation application for Pro-Q-Kine will be submitted.

      Call for Abstracts

      Submission Deadline Prolonged: 15 November 2025

      The Spine Society of Belgium (SSBe) is pleased to invite researchers and clinicians to submit abstracts for the poster session at the upcoming ID Spine Symposium.

      The poster session aims at showcasing original research related to the spine, providing an opportunity for researchers to present their work and engage in scientific discussions.

      As part of the Congress a poster competition will be held. The Scientific Committee will select the best poster to receive the Young Investigator Award, which includes a diploma and a financial prize.

      In addition, the awardee will be eligible for selection as a finalist to represent Belgium at EuroSpine 2026, taking place from October 7 – 9, 2026, in Gothenburg. If selected, the registration fee for the congress will be fully covered.
       

      Submission Guidelines

      You can submit several abstracts at the same time and add abstracts later on:

      • Fill out your personal details and go through the submission procedure.

      Your abstract(s) is/are only uploaded successfully when you receive an automatic reply confirming your submission(s).

      IMPORTANT: The uploaded Word file(s) must contain title, authors & affiliations and the actual abstract.

      Instructions for Authors

      • Language: Abstracts must be written in English and be submitted as a Word document (.docx)
      • Abstracts should not exceed 300 words (excluding title, authors and affiliations and bibliography)
      • Use Calibri font size 11 following the provided template.
      • Use single spacing and type the text justified.
      • In structured abstracts, paragraph headings should by typed in bold with no colon at the end. Do not use the heading ‘Abstract’. Each heading should be in a separate paragraph.
      • The use of References is discouraged and must be limited to max 3. When you list references, use superscript numbers in both the text and the reference list.
      • Content: Abstracts should be structured as follows:
      1. Title (Concise and relevant)  Type title in sentence case in bold with no full stop at the end
      2. Authors Type family name first followed by the initials of the first name of the authors (Rubens P.P., Van Eyck J. etc.
      3. Affiliations Type affiliation underneath the authors: Institution, Department, City, Country (do not mention street addresses, PO boxes or zip codes). When there are multiple affiliations number them as follows and use the semi-colon between the multiple affiliations:

       1Dept. A, Hospital A, City, Country; 2Dept. B, Hospital B, City, Country etc

      1. Background (Introduction & Objectives)
      2. Methods (Study Design, Participants, Procedures)
      3. Results (Key Findings)
      4. Conclusion
      5. Implications (optional)
      6. References (max 3)

      Review Process & Presentation

      • All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Belgian Back Society (BBS) Scientific Committee.
      • Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters during the congress. It is not possible to submit abstracts for oral presentations.
      • Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their abstract by email by the end of November 2025.
      • Poster presenters are NOT exempt from paying the (reduced) registration fee.
      • Instructions for poster format and dimensions will be provided upon acceptance.
